Where Walton Records Are Held

Walton County Sheriff’s Office
Walton County Detention Center and WCSO records
350 Georgia Avenue
Monroe, GA 30655
Main and non-emergency: 770-267-6557
Jail information: 770-267-0887
Records fax: 770-267-1440

WCSO prefers open-records requests by email to Sergeant Lora Stamey at lstamey@co.walton.ga.us or Kirstin Stovall at kirstin.stovall@co.walton.ga.us. Requests may also be delivered at the Monroe address or sent by fax. The WCSO Administration page says a request receives a response within three business days. The source reviewed does not publish a regular WCSO public-counter schedule, so call before visiting. Emergency calls belong to 911.

For a current or released Walton booking, start with the official WCSO Inmate Inquiry. Keep the current-custody option selected for people held at the time of the search. Clear it and enter booking dates when looking for a released booking. The portal does not promise a fixed update interval, so urgent custody questions should go to the jail line.

Published WCSO service fees are $3 for reports, $0.10 per page for case files, $10 for audio, $20 for a DVD, and $10 per hour for research or compilation after the first 15 minutes. WCSO does not list a separate flat fee for a booking photograph, so ask for an estimate before production. Service-fee payments are accepted by cash, certified check, or money order, not a personal or business check. A precise request should include the name, booking date or range, booking or case number, the existing record sought, and an electronic-delivery preference.

  • For a person just arrested or a recent Walton booking, begin with the home guide and the official WCSO roster. A city incident report and a county booking record are separate records, so check the arresting agency as well as the jail.
  • For a warrant question, a person no longer shown in custody, or a release notification, use Most Wanted Fugitives for the safe verification path, then check the official roster and VINELink after identifying the holding agency. WCSO has no public name-search warrant portal in the researched sources. Call 770-267-6557 or check with the issuing clerk or court. Do not approach anyone, and do not treat a silent online docket as clearance.
  • For Walton County Detention Center information, use the WCSO Jail Division page and the jail line above. There are no separate facility pages on this site.
  • For a Monroe Police Department incident or accident report, use MPD Support Services. The records section is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; MPD lists free incident, accident, and criminal-history copies, with video listed at $25. Requests may be sent to MPDOPENRECORDS@monroega.gov or made in person at 140 Blaine Street, Monroe. The MPD main number is 770-267-7576.
  • For a Loganville Police Department report, use the department’s information at 605 Tom Brewer Road, Loganville, GA 30052, phone 770-466-8087, and submit the existing-record request through the Loganville Open Records form. Loganville crosses Walton and Gwinnett counties, so confirm the arresting agency and booking facility first.
  • For a Social Circle Police Department report, use 138 East Hightower Trail, phone 770-464-2366. Involved parties may request reports by phone and pick them up Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; after identifiers are verified, reports may be emailed. Non-parties use the City Clerk’s Social Circle JustFOIA portal. Social Circle also reaches into Newton County, so a city-name search does not by itself identify the jail.
  • For state, federal, immigration, or court records, use the Georgia Department of Corrections Offender Search, the Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator, the ICE Online Detainee Locator, or the Walton County Clerk of Superior Courts, as appropriate. These systems answer different questions and none is a Walton County mugshot feed. GDC records requests use its Open Records page.
